Global Gender Gap Report 2021: A Policy Brief
The pandemic repercussions have brought a high-frequency decline in the gender gaps in the (Global Gender Gap Report 2021, 2021). LinkedIn, ILO, and Ipsos have provided a timely analysis of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the gender gaps in economic participation. The ILO early projection suggests 5% of all employed women lost their jobs and 3.9% of employed men. LinkedIn data shows a decline in women’s hiring into leadership roles. This has created reversal progress of 1-2 years in women’s participation across multiple industries.
